DDC - Big Switch

DAVENTRY DISTRICT COUNCIL – BIG SWITCH

Residents are joining together for our collective energy switching scheme. What is the Big Switch?

The scheme aims to help residents to get a better deal on their energy bills. The Council is working with switching partner iChoosr to use collective purchasing power to secure better deals for everyone.

How much can you save?

Similar schemes run by other Councils have seen yearly savings of between £60 to £200 per household. But, we can’t guarantee every household will save money. This depends on your current tariff arrangements.

4 easy steps to switching energy provider

Anyone who pays a household energy bill can register for FREE for the scheme from 2nd December 2014 to 2nd February 2015. There are a number of ways you can register and it’s an easy process, but you will need a copy of a recent energy bill or annual statement to complete the process.

A number of drop-in ‘switch days’ are taking place across the District, (see below). Please bring your annual electricity and gas bill with you or just your electricity bill if you are off the gas network.

Step Two: Sit back, relax. Once registration closes on 2nd February 2015, the council’s switching partner iChoosr will gather everyone’s registrations together and invite energy companies to offer their best tariff to everyone in the scheme in a reverse auction process on 3rd February 2015.

Step Three: Consider the offer. You will then receive a ‘personal offer’ on the new tariff secured by the scheme, based on the information you gave when registering. You will also see exactly how much money you could potentially save if you accept the offer. The information will be tailored to your household, based on the information you supplied when registering.

Step Four: Make a decision. People will have until 16th March 2015 to decide whether they want to switch or not. There is no obligation to accept the offer and no fees or charges.
