The December Bulletin included the above article and at the January Parish Council meeting, further discussions were held. The rose bed is in desperate need of a revamp, having originally been created to mark the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. The PC decided to rejuvenate the bed in time to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. It is acknowledged that some villagers may have a sentimental attachment to some of the rose bushes, in which case, those villagers can contact the Clerk and remove them prior to 1 March 2012 so that work can commence on the bed, in order that it is completed for the celebrations in the first week of June.
Design ideas for a permanent planter (a planting suggestion having already been put forward) are also welcome (as these will need to be run passed Highways first) together with any thoughts on providing a permanent Christmas Tree within the village.
